Abies Nobilis (Noble Fir)
A tall, slender tree with a narrow conical crown. The Noble Fir can grow to between 40-70 metres in height, however, the growth rate is very slow. The needle-like leaves are grey/green with narrow silver bands on the underside. A very popular Christmas tree due to its high needle retention rate.
Cones: It produces green and brown cones which are approximately 15-25cm long.
Timber: The Noble Fir is a popular Christmas tree, with the timber also being used for interior joinery.
Soil Types/ Habitat: Prefers deep, moist but well drained, acidic soil. Grows well in cool and exposed
sites.
